After the success of the Xiaomi Mi TV 5 and Mi TV 5 Pro series in Beijing, China now Xiaomi is going to launch its new premium category TV which will sport by OLED panel. The Mi TV 5 and Mi TV Pro comes with Quantum Dot display. For the time being, the new Mi TVs will remain sell in Xiaomi’s home market, China.
The new lineup of Smart TVs from Xiaomi comes with a Quantum Dot display which offers a better picture quality and is heading towards the high-end segment. As for the OLED TVs, the company’s executive had said that they will definitely work on it and is expected to launch the same in the first quarter of this year.
According to ithome.com website, Xiaomi executive Li Xiaoshuang confirms this information, that Xiaomi will bring OLED screen on its new TVs with 4K resolution. The company confirms that it will launch OLED Mi TVs in early 2020.,
As we know OLED panels are very expensive as compare to other displays, so we can imagine that the new Xiaomi TVs will compete with other expensive brands like Sony, Samsung, LG, etc. So definitely the upcoming TVs by Xiaomi will be more expensive than its recent TVs and not affordable to similar to the existing Mi TVs.
Li Xiaoshuang also stressed that in addition to OLED TV, Xiaomi is still working on the real 8K resolution, including multi-screen TV, 8K full-process, and MINI LED, etc. He also added that there will be more products in the future.
As of now, Xiaomi will launch only 4K TV under this category with Smart technology, powered by the latest Android operating system.
As for the performance of Xiaomi in the market, Li Xiaoshuang who is the General Manager of Xiaomi TV said that from the 1st quarter of this year to the 3rd quarter, Xiaomi TV has ranked first in terms of shipments. He also added that the company took six years to reach this stage and will find the best direction to move forward.
