Xiaomi has confirmed it will use a Samsung 4K QLEDpanel in the Mi TV5.
When OnePlus launched its smart television last month, it made the entire market stand up and notice. Now, in a bid to take on OnePlus TV, Xiaomi has launched its Mi TV5 within 2 months of launching the Mi TV4. The major difference between the two will be the QLED panels that are featured in the OnePlus TVs. For the record, the QLED panels are an improvement on the OLED panels considering the color reproduction and the viewing pleasure.
The Mi TV5 will feature the Samsung 4K QLED panel, which boasts of the NTSC color gamut coverage of 108-per cent. This has been officially confirmed by Xiaomi. The Mi TV5 series will, therefore, be not only competing with the OnePlus TV but also against the cheaper Samsung QLED and LG OLED models.
The company has also started releasing tease ads and promotional campaigns for this new TV series.
Xiaomi will be launching a new smartwatch too along with the Mi TV5. The main event of that day, November 5 in China will be about the launch of the company’s new smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi CC9 Pro. This device will feature six cameras in the rear and details will only be revealed at the launch event.
The Mi Watch to be unveiled at the same event will have an outer appearance resembling the Apple Watch. Xiaomi has used the promotional tag the “smartphone for your wrist”.
Xiaomi has listed GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, a Qualcomm chipset as the features to figure in the Mi Watch. The company would want to position this as a premium offering from its stable and further information on its range and pricing etc. will be known only after the official release.
Xiaomi also teased several details about the upcoming Mi Watch. The design of the smartwatch seems similar to that of the Apple Watch. However, Xiaomi deems the forthcoming Mi Watch as a “smartphone for your wrist”.
