The glorious River Eden rises high on the borders of Cumbria and North Yorkshire and flows for more than 60 miles, transforming along its course between fast streams, deep pools, riffles and stony glides. As quite a bit of it passes over carboniferous limestone, it’s exceptionally rich both in species biodiversity and the sheer range of aquatic habitats it supports.
