The US teen who has been nicknamed the “barefoot bandit” has been arrested after a high-speed boat chase by the Bahamas police. Police recovered a GPS device, laptop and a gun from the teen.

The original name of the teen is Colton, and he has been on the run from the US since 2008 after committing a number of burglaries in different houses in Washington State.

Colton has been involved in a number of theft and burglary cases and has managed to evade the police successfully for two years. The Bahamian authorities said that he will first be extradited for those charges, before handing him over to the American authorities.

Colton is said to have a troubled childhood where he was convicted for burglary at the age of 12, and by the time he turned 13, he had three more cases in his name. However, his mother has come out to defend her son saying that allegations against him are exaggerated.

Fans of this 19 year old  on Facebook have come out to support him in the open, and has said that he should be let go because he has not really caused harm to any person.
